You might have noticed we rarely post on social media these days and there’s a reason for that.
Here you can read more about why we decided to shift our focus from the draining algorithms to our slower spaced website and what changes we make in the future regarding out posting habit.
A Quieter Way to Share
Why We Created Tide Notes
In the beginning, I felt like we had to be everywhere. Post on this platform, update that feed, make reels, stories, videos, updates; all to keep up with the hungry world of social media. And while I believe it does help connect with people (or at least it did help us for a while) I’ve started to realise something that’s slowly reshaping how we want to run this business:
Not everything belongs on social media.

At Breena, we create with care. Everything – from the sea glass we gather to the way we photograph a handmade piece – is slow and thoughtful. It’s inspired by nature and by quietness. But social media is not built for quiet things instead it’s built for noise, speed, trends, and algorithms. And trying to keep up with that pace? Actually, it becomes draining for us sometimes.
That’s why we started shifting our focus toward something that feels more like home:
Our website. So we’ve created a new, gentler way of sharing from our hearts. We made our own dedicated space – called Secret Cove/ Tide Notes.
A Gentle Space to Share
Secret Cove/ Tide Notes is our quiet corner of the internet where we have a bit more time to breath.
No pressure to perform, no algorithm to fight. Just stories, behind-the-scenes glimpses, coastal finds, and thoughts from the studio or from the coast, all shared in a way that feels true to what we do and who we are.
This doesn’t mean we are disappearing from social media altogether. We know that it can help new people find what we do. You’ll still see the occasional update or photo or reel there (at least for a while), especially to let new folks know what we’re about, but the social media platforms are not the main way we want to show up anymore. They’re more like little lanterns lighting a path back to Tide Notes, where the deeper stories rest in quiet. I choose them only when there’s something true I want to show, not because I feel pressure to perform.
This is where the heart of it lives. And I want to build something lasting. Something slow and beautiful and ours. It’s a more intentional way for us to stay in touch, without the pressure to perform, or the endless noise.
This shift is about making space to share more, not less, at a pace that suits us. Without shouting too much, or letting us being buried by the scroll.
Why the Website Matters
A website is more than a shop, it’s a sanctuary.
It’s a place where everything lives in one space: our story, our values, our work, our updates. It doesn’t disappear in 24 hours or get buried in a feed. It’s not dependent on reach or likes. It’s just here; steady, quiet, and always open.
For anyone running a gentle business, I really believe having your own space online is one of the most grounding things you can do. It’s a place that doesn’t demand your attention 24/7. A place you can share on your own terms. A place that truly reflects what you stand for.
So if you’re someone who enjoys the quiet kind of making and sharing, who’s tired of the constant scrolling, the pressure, the pace, the noise; come have a wander through Tide Notes.
There’s no rush here. Just stories and small discoveries, and a slower but meaningful way of doing things.
