FAQ

WHAT IS SEA GLASS JEWELLERY?

Sea glass jewellery is made from pieces of discarded glass that have been naturally tumbled and smoothed by the ocean over time. These pieces are collected along coastlines and transformed into beautiful, one-of-a-kind accessories, including necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Each piece of sea glass is unique, with its shape and texture.

Where does the sea glass come from?

The origin of each sea glass piece is always mentioned in the product description. We have a wide range of jewellery made with sea glass collected from places such as Portishead, Clevedon, Bovisand Devon, and Charmouth . If you’d like a piece made with sea glass from a specific location, just let us know and we’ll do our best to find one for you from our stock.

IS ALL OF YOUR SEA GLASS ETHICALLY SOURCED?

Yes! At Breena Jewellery, all of our sea glass is ethically sourced from the United Kingdom. We personally collect our sea glass from local beaches, ensuring that no harm is done to the environment. By using recycled sea glass, we help reduce waste and create stunning, sustainable jewellery that tells a story of transformation.

Do you offer packaging or gift wrap?

Yes, every Breena Jewellery piece comes beautifully packaged in a gift box, wrapped, ready to give (or keep for yourself). The packaging is designed with storytelling details inspired by the coast, making each piece feel extra special the moment it’s opened.

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE IN YOUR JEWELLERY?

We use high-quality materials, including 925 sterling silver and 14k gold-filled metals, to create long-lasting, elegant pieces. Our sea glass is often paired with other precious materials like gemstones for added sparkle and uniqueness.

WHAT IS 14K GOLD-FILLED JEWELLERY?

14k gold-filled jewellery is made by bonding a thick layer of 14k gold to a base metal core, which makes it more affordable than solid gold but still highly durable and tarnish-resistant. It offers the luxury and appearance of gold without the price tag, making it perfect for everyday wear, especially when combined with sea glass in our designs.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase! We offer hassle-free returns within 30 days of receiving your jewellery. If for any reason you’re not satisfied with your piece, you can return it for a full refund or exchange. Please make sure the item is in its original condition. For more information, check our Returns & Refunds page.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY SEA GLASS JEWELLERY?

To keep your sea glass jewellery looking its best:

– Clean with a soft cloth and avoid harsh chemicals or cleaners.
– Store your jewellery in a dry place when not in use.
– Avoid prolonged exposure to water, especially with sterling silver or gold-filled pieces, to maintain their shine and longevity.

DO YOU OFFER CUSTOM OR PERSONALISED JEWELLERY?

Yes, we love creating custom sea glass jewellery! Whether you want to incorporate a special piece of sea glass you’ve found or personalize a design with your favorite gemstone or metal, we’re happy to work with you. Contact us for custom orders, and we’ll bring your vision to life.

WHAT MAKES SEA GLASS JEWELLERY ECO-FRIENDLY?

Our sea glass jewellery is eco-friendly because it’s made from recycled materials that were once discarded and transformed by the ocean. Instead of contributing to waste, we give new life to these ocean treasures. We also use sustainable packaging and materials like recycled sterling silver and gold-filled metals, which are long-lasting and responsibly sourced.

Why does my sea glass look darker where it touches the metal?

It’s normal for sea glass to darken slightly where it meets the metal setting, as the metal can naturally tarnish over time. The good news is it’s very easy to fix, just give it a gentle clean with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush, and the sea glass will look bright again.

Can sea glass break?

Yes, sea glass is durable but it is still a glass, so it can chip or break if dropped onto a hard surface or knocked against something sharp. To keep your jewellery safe, try to handle it with care and avoid dropping it.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THE SEA GLASS IN MY JEWELLERY IS GENUINE?

We only use authentic sea glass in our designs. The pieces we collect have spent years in the ocean, shaped and smoothed by the waves. You can tell genuine sea glass by its frosted, matte appearance and smooth texture, as well as by the unique shapes that vary from piece to piece.

WHAT IS LUMINOUS SEA GLASS JEWELLERY?

Our LUMINOUS sea glass jewellery is a special collection featuring pieces that glow in the dark! We use eco-friendly, non-toxic glowing paint that charges in daylight, creating a subtle glow when the lights go down. These glowing sea glass designs are perfect for adding a little extra magic to your look.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We accept a variety of secure payment methods, including all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and other options. Our checkout process is safe and straightforward, ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers.

MY JEWELLERY HAS TARNISHED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It’s very normal for jewellery to tarnish due to factors like skin acidity, lotions, storage, or contact with water. Gold and silver pieces can often be restored with the polishing cloth provided in your order. For more details, please refer to our care guide or read this blog post: or this:

MY CHAIN IS KNOTTED/TANGLED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Tangled chains can be tricky to untangle, and, unfortunately, there’s no quick solution. We suggest using two fine pins or needles to gently ease apart the knots. Take your time to avoid pulling or applying too much tension, as this can lead to stretching or even breaking the chain.
